ABOUT US

God has a way of letting us know that he is with us.  His providence does not have to happen or reveal itself in colossal ways.  Often times, He reminds us in the simplest form.  Nonetheless, because of His sovereign power, however He sees fit, it is always what is needed, when it is needed.

It was not Pastor Anthony Kyles’ plan of planting a church when he did, but God had other plans.  The opportunity presented itself and the vision created by God manifested itself.  With the assistance of a faithful group of Christian followers, People of God Community Church (PGCC) was realized October 19, 2014.  The first Sunday, forty-three people who were committed to seeing God at work, attended service for the first time in the Chantilly Holiday Inn Eastchase Conference Center located at 9250 Boyd-Cooper Parkway, Montgomery, Alabama.  PGCC’s traditional services with a contemporary appeal are based on solid biblical worship services that are alive with energy and creativity.  Glory be to God that it has been fully operational and functioning since that time.

Several ministries have been established at PGCC.  The Youth Ministry participates in the choir, ushering, youth bible study, teen bible study, community service, giving, and all other aspects of the worship experience.  The Teleconference Bible Study Ministry and onsite bible study has continually provided a weekly in-depth study of the word of God.  Additionally, the Adult Bible Study Ministry offers those who attend an opportunity to fellowship as they share and discuss God’s word.  The Adult Usher Ministry and Welcome Ministry are the backbone of PGCC.  They are the first people that members and visitors see as they enter the sanctuary. GIFTS Women’s Ministry, Covenant Keepers Men’s Ministry, and the Circles Marriage Ministry offer personalized experiences for women, men, and couples in Christ.  The Praise and Worship Ministry, Youth Praise Dance Ministry, and the Mime Ministry offer expressions of God’s works through song, dance, and interpretation.  The monthly Newsletter Ministry, “The Vine in your Community”, includes information about past, present, and future events as it relates to PGCC.  Finally, the Community Service Ministry is close to our heart, because it encapsulates who we are and what we believe.  It is our opportunity to go beyond the walls of the church, meeting the needs of others in need.

The conceptual plan through God’s leading was to create a church with simple goals in mind,  help people connect with God in a church without letting structures, people, or programs get in the way.  Based on these foundational principles, the core values were established and incorporated into every aspect of the church.

In addition to the core values, the church’s logo is designed and interwoven into the fabric of the church.  The logo is of an ampersand with a cross placed diagonally through it. The ampersand represent togetherness and unity while the cross is the symbol that brings about togetherness and unity.  There is no better symbolism of what PGCC represents and what God has in store for its members and the body of Christ.

OUR CORE VALUES
WE VALUE BIBLE-CENTERED PREACHING & TEACHING

We believe that the Bible is the authoritative Word of God.

(2 Timothy 3:16)

WE VALUE YOUTH EMPOWERMENT

We believe in empowering our youth through teaching, equipping, coaching, and mentoring to trust in God and His holy word.

(1 John 4:4)

WE VALUE PEOPLE

We believe in the fulfillment of Christ’s greatest commandment to love our neighbor as thyself.

(Mark 12:31)

WE VALUE FAMILY

We believe that moral strength is gained when people are reared in a stable Christian family home with loving parents.  God said that not taking care of family is worse than an unbeliever.

(1 Timothy 5:8)

WE VALUE GIVING AND TITHING

We believe that Christians should give abundantly, cheerfully, constantly, and proportionately to the local church as God’s tool to continue His earthly ministry.  We recognize that ministry cost and that giving may be one of the most tangible expressions of our faith.

(Malachi 3:10)
